Wushu has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. It's a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as full-contact sport. Competitive wushu is composed of two disciplines: taolu and sanda. Taolu involves martial art patterns, movement and techniques for which competitors are judged and given points according to specific rules. Sanda, or sometimes called shansou, is modern fighting method and a full contact sport. It contains boxing, kicks and wrestling. Wushu was first incorporated into the Asian Games in 1990.
