The Indonesian Hockey Federation (FHI) members elected Maj. Gen (Army) Budi Sulistijono as the new chairman in the FHI general assembly in Jakarta on Saturday.
Budi is no stranger to the federation as previously he was a member of the Board of Advisor of FHI.
The general assembly was officially opened by the CEO of the Asian Hockey Federation, Dato Tayyab Ikram, while the Executive Committee member, Indra Gamulya, gave a speech on behalf of the President of the Olympic Committee of Indonesia, Raja Sapta Oktohari.
FHI members expect Budi's appointment will continue all programs from previous leadership. Currently, FHI is preparing both men's and women's national teams for the Asian Indoor Hockey Championships in Thailand, slated for March 21-28, 2022. FHI aims to qualify for the 2024 World Cup.
FHI will also continue its plan to organize the Indonesian Hockey League in 2022 to provide experience and improve athletes' skills.
